There was this gathering, at a hall in my University. I was waiting to be registered, when a dude approached me..
Bro1 : Uh..bang. Saya nak mintak tolong sikit..
Me : okay.. ( layan je )
Bro1 : Kawan saya tersangkut, dia tengah jalan datang sini, tapi hujan...
Me : okay..uhh macam ni la *pegang bahu dia*
Bro1 : ....
Me : sebenarnya, aku first year jugak, macam kau. Heheh
Bro1 : !!!
Scene 2
Same event, a few minutes back. Before maghrib. I was waiting for maghrib in the musolla. When I heard the adhan from a distance, I signaled one guy, if he wanted to call for prayer, or if I should do it. He misunderstood it as, "it's time, go adhan." So he got up straight and goes to call for maghrib prayer (adhan). I was dumbfounded. Then after a few minutes, he stood up, and looked to me. I simply nodded, signalling "alright, go iqamah" then after prayers, I shook their hands. And they bowed, as a sign of seniority. I was like "uhhh, okaaay." It was a gathering for the Islamic Students Organisation, so it was first impression all around. Baju melayu, track pants, timid smiles, uber-polite.
I don't look like a first year student, do I?
power of the beard! Never underestimate.
There's something though, about the first impression. Everyone put on the same image. 80% successful cloning attempt at first impression. Why? Why? Why? Be yourself, get your strongest feature, lean it towards Islam. The four khalifah ar-Rasyideen, Abu Bakr, Umar al-Khattab, Uthman Affan, Ali bin Abi Talib, each have their strong features. And they are all great. They didn't get the title RA simply. We need more INDIVIDUALS, not CLONES. I shall explain this later. Stay tuned! :D
Anyways, I wish I could get a little response for once. Not that I'm desperate for attention, but a feedback would be great. What to improve on, what should stay as it is, what shouldn't. I guess I'm not active enough to get such attention :'(
Let this be my first attempt.
Being in University, I constantly ask myself, why am I here? Why do I want to be successful? Four years is not short, and it's not easy. So, why?
What's your reason to strive for success? :)
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing.
